Tongue in Cheek
The answer to this is obviously "Yes, yes, you may."
Has it really been two years (give or take a few days) already?
The answer to this is obviously "Yes, yes, it has."
Should I be comforted or horrified by the fact there is an someecard for this?
The answer to this is obviously "Yes, yes, you should."
As far as my last post goes? I am still not happy that any of it happened, but the past is the past and what is done is done. There isn't a way to go back and change any of it. I've decided instead of being frustrated why any of it was, instead I've decided that I'll remember more of the what. For the first time in a long time, I'd felt fun and beautiful and desirable. I had butterflies and smiles and sweet dreams.
We have this rule in my group of friends that we don't push one another -- even though sometimes we really should. We know someone is upset, but we respect the fact if they aren't going to give it up with ease, then they aren't and badgering (how ever kindly) isn't going to do anyone any good. I have a feeling hoodie!boy knows I was upset with him. He asked if everything was alright, but didn't push. I wasn't in the mood to go into it, so I just smiled and nodded and that was that.
Given enough time I can process and accept pretty much anything, and I'm there. I'm not completely forgetting, but I'm not going to be actively upset with him. I'm willing to bet I'll be a bit more cautious with him, and question every now and then, but I'm thinking that will be the extent of it. Life is too short to be carrying around anger and frustration, especially if there is nothing to be done. One day we may talk about it, but I'm not pushing for the the opportunity. Because we don't push.
Here's to the past two years and all of it's craziness. It's been a hell of a learning curve.

I hear ya! I got out of a 2 year relationship and it surely has been a learning curve!
ReplyDeleteI love that ecard, by the way!
Hopefully he continues to not push you on it. That's a good approach, incidentally. I mean, not pushing probably means to less yelling in the long run, and that can only be a positive thing. Although if it were me, I'd go crazy wanting to know what the problem is. Because I'm nosy like that... ;)
ReplyDeleteStill confused by this post, as well as the last one. Maybe I don't know all of the details of the hoodie!boy situation? As mentioned in previous comment: e-mail me if you like.
ReplyDeleteYep, that ecard could definitely apply to several past situations of myself as well.
ReplyDeleteI hope things started to get better after this.
