Last night was... amazing. superb. spectacular. winning.
Last night team!friend and another coworker went with me to get my tattoo. I love it. It's so light and airy and beautiful and everything that I thought it would be. It took a couple of tries to get it how I wanted (at first it was angled wrong and then I realized a little section was off), but eventually it got there, and I couldn't be happier. I love how I can say I got tattooed one dark and stormy night! Turns out, I don't find tattoos to be extremely painful. When it was being done, I thought of being scratched by a cat, just slower if that makes sense.
I am so happy that I was able to share that with the both of them. It's something that I've wanted since I was sixteen. Same tattoo. Same placement. To be able to have that with people whom I love very much was the best part of the whole experience.
After going to the drug store for soap and lotion, we went to team!friend's house and made ourselves wine coolers and had a good time just hanging around and talking. Our coworker had to leave, leaving team!friend and I. We decided that we would to go this local haunt to grab a little bit of food, a drink or two, and people watch. While driving around trying to find a parking spot, I saw this guy walking down the sidewalk. I thought he was kinda cute. Turns out he was hoodie!boy. Yeah... and then I almost killed him in the intersection. Not on purpose. He says I almost died, but I say he almost died.
So we get to the place, order our food, get our drinks, and sit out and just watch. It was craziness. This is a pretty eclectic place, and there was a little bit of everything. Men... well, they're interesting to watch, but not nearly as much as women. Women seem to have more tactics to try to get attention, especially with their outfits. For real, there were some really, really, really poor fashion calls last night. I just don't get it... but then again, I'm not them.
Have I mentioned how much I love sitting out in the sultry air, the base thumping in my chest? I do. I do. I do.
We'd been there forever, when team!friend sees baby!boy and hoodie!boy walk by. She tells me, and what do I do? I wanna go and talk to them and show off my tattoo. So I go in there, and run into baby!boy first. He's all hugs and how you doing and pretty normal. He asked me if I was there with hoodie!boy and I said no, I was with team!friend. Baby!boy leads me inside the place to where hoodie!boy is and I say hi and "I got a tattoo tonight!"
If only I could describe his face.
Anyway, he was all pretty much WTF, and I pointed out how many people at work have tattoos. I guess I was expecting him to be a little more excited. Or at least not assholeish. The thing is, that I thought I saw light at the end of the tunnel this week. We had a really good conversation on Wednesday, and he was freaking human on Thursday and Friday. I was apparently wrong. So that really sort of sucked. I don't know what I was expecting, and I should have known better, but still.
I went outside to get team!friend and by the time we got back, they were gone. I asked where they had went, got a really vague answer, and that was about the end of that. They obviously didn't want to be found, and were successful at that.
However, while we were looking for them, I ran into bigger assholes. These guys are the sort of guys that I just wanna punch. Team!friend was in the bathroom, so I was alone. Yeah.... this guy comes up to me, and goes "If you weren't with a serious boyfriend, would you sleep with my friend?" I look him up and down, and while he is cute, there is no way in hell I'm saying "Sure, let's go. Imma fuck your brains out right here on the bar." I say no, and then the guy ask if I'd sleep with him. Once again I say no.
Team!friend and I leave and go to another little spot and keep people watching. By this point it is late, and people are stumbling out, which is always interesting to see. This is where I have to wonder, why the hell go out and drink in five inch heels? I mean, really? That's just asking for a sprained ankle if the people you're with don't catch you. Some groups needed a designated walker.
So all in all, a wonderful night. I feel so empowered and like I said before I was so happy I was able to do what I did with the people I did. Even with asshole encounters of the third kind, I wouldn't trade it for the world. I felt so loved, and so good about myself, and my life. It's that song by One Republic; "got this feeling that you can't fight/ like this city is on fire tonight/ this could be a good life, good good life."
I have a good, good life.
Loving the OneRepublic quote! I posted Good Life for my Monday Music 2 weeks ago...amazing band, and the lyrics are so true.
ReplyDeleteHappy to hear that you have a good, good life in spite of the disappointments from hoodie!boy. If he isn't capable of being human, don't fret...there are plenty out there who are.

Yay! I'm so excited you got your tattoo! And that it didn't hurt.
ReplyDeleteI also agree with what Shane says. There are plenty of guys out there way better than hoodie!boy :)
Congrats on your tattoo! And wow...I can't believe how disrespectful those guys were...especially the one who asked if you'd sleep with him!
