I'll admit it. I've been a slacker with getting out there lately, which means that I haven't been getting my numbers up, like at all. I'm starting to get a little bit lazy, which isn't good. Maybe not so much lazy as comfortable. I'm getting comfortable in my situation again, and I'm finding that it is decreasing the motivation to go out and get those numbers up. There are lots of different reasons for this, some good, some piss poor.
I did go to an event earlier this afternoon, but it ended up not being quite what I had expected. It was a free day at a local museum, and some workshops were offered. I guess I was thinking that I would be able to strike up a conversation with someone if they caught my eye, but alas, not so much. It really wasn't set up for a whole lot of talking to begin with, and there was hardly anyone that caught my attention. One of the men leading a session was cute in what I would consider a geeky, nerdy sort of way. However, I wasn't about to go up to him and be all... whatever. I may be bold at times, but I just wasn't feeling it today.
I have an event in a couple of weeks, and I'm sure that I'll find something to do in the meantime. It's just a matter of getting all the information together, processing it, and deciding how I want to proceed.
Here's hoping that something catches my eye sooner rather than later.
I think being comfortable in your situation can help you too, as long as it's not holding you back. Good luck and have fun!

I hoping for you as well.
ReplyDeletePS. I love the movie reference.
So I just stumbled across you today, and was so pleased to see this quote because just in the past two days I have stated it myself at least twice. I look forward to reading more about your journey. :-D Take care, lady.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Mr. Pilgrim on this. He said all I was going to say :)
